Ahsan Bhatti, Superintendent Pharmacist
"Modern weight-loss treatment works on the biology of appetite - it isn't about willpower. A registered clinician reviews your history, checks it's safe for you, and supports you through the doses. That clinical oversight is exactly what a regulated pharmacy is for."

What our patients say

Frequently asked

What causes weight gain?
Weight gain can happen for many reasons and often develops gradually over time. Common factors include excess calorie intake, low physical activity, genetics, hormonal changes and lifestyle habits. Stress, poor sleep and certain medications can also play a role in weight gain and difficulty losing weight.
How can I manage my weight?
Healthy weight management focuses on long-term lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes. A combination of a balanced, calorie-controlled diet, regular physical activity and ongoing support can help people lose weight safely and keep it off. Clinical guidance and structured support can improve long-term success.
Am I eligible?
If you're 18-75 with a BMI over 30 (or over 27 with a weight-related health condition) you may be eligible. As with any medication there are contraindications, so our medical team reviews your medical history - and blood test results, if you choose to have them - to check treatment is safe for you. It isn't suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
How does the medication work?
GLP-1 medication mimics hormones your body makes naturally to suppress appetite and regulate hunger, so you feel satisfied eating smaller meals and take in fewer calories. If a pre-filled pen is prescribed, you take a small injection at home into your stomach, thigh or upper arm.
Are there any side effects?
Some people experience side effects with GLP-1 medication, although not everyone will. The most common are nausea, diarrhoea, constipation and vomiting. These usually settle after a few days or weeks of continued treatment. Always read the patient information leaflet supplied with your treatment.
