Your prescriber either approves a suitable treatment, asks for more information, or explains that treatment isn't right for you. Treatment is only ever supplied after this clinical decision - never automatically.

Medical weight loss is generally intended for adults living with obesity, or who are overweight with a weight-related health condition. A prescriber always makes the final decision.
It may be suitable if you
- Are an adult with a BMI of 30 or above
- Have a BMI of 27+ with a weight-related condition (e.g. high blood pressure, high cholesterol or type 2 diabetes)
- Have already tried to lose weight through diet and exercise
It may not be suitable if you
- Are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding
- Have a personal or family history of certain thyroid cancers
- Have had pancreatitis or certain other conditions your prescriber will ask about
This isn't a full list. Your prescriber may also use clinical judgement for people who don't exactly meet the guideline criteria but would clearly benefit - and will always review your complete medical history and current medicines before deciding.
What treatment might involve
Most modern weight loss treatments are medicines that help manage appetite, alongside changes to diet and activity. There are also oral options. Which - if any - is right for you is a clinical decision made during your review.
We don't recommend a specific medicine on this page on purpose: the safest choice depends on your health, history and how you respond, which is exactly what the assessment is for.

Do I need to see a GP first?
No. You complete an online assessment and a Quick Meds prescriber reviews it. You don't need a separate GP appointment, though we may ask for more information - or to verify details - to prescribe safely.
How long does it take?
The consultation itself takes a few minutes. Clinical review is usually quick, and approved orders are dispatched with tracked delivery - often the next day.
What if treatment isn't suitable for me?
If your prescriber decides treatment isn't right for you, it won't be supplied. If an order has already been placed and is then declined after clinical assessment, you receive a full refund including any delivery charge.
Is my information confidential?
Yes. Your consultation is confidential and handled under our privacy policy, and your treatment is delivered in plain, discreet packaging.
